Cognitive Assessment

Commonly referred to as an “IQ test”, this assessment is recommended for children with no suspected learning difficulties or specific learning disorders, but when more information is sought on their cognitive abilities.

What does it assess?

Our cognitive assessment measures:

the cognitive abilities known to be beneficial to learning (e.g. verbal comprehension, visual-spatial processing, fluid reasoning, working memory, and processing speed, etc.)

social-emotional-behavioural factors (e.g. attention difficulties, anxiety, social communication difficulties, etc.)

can be used to determine whether the child meets the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for Global Developmental Delay (GD) and/or Intellectual Disability (ID).

What does it include?

Our cognitive assessment includes:

parent intake interview

provision of a cognitive assessment, such as the WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS, or Woodcock Johnson IV Test of Cognitive Abilities, depending on child's age

administration and scoring of standardised behavioural screening questionnaires

correspondence with the child’s teacher

parent feedback session

comprehensive report including results of assessment, detailed recommendations for appropriate classroom strategies, any relevant diagnosis, and recommendations for appropriate intervention supports or further assessment

Cognitive Assessment Package: $1800
