Bethany Chatfield

Psychologist

Bethany is a psychologist who has experience working with a variety of presentations across the lifespan in clinical and community settings. While completing her studies Bethany worked with children and adolescents in out of home care who displayed complex care needs due to their traumatic backgrounds; the young people Bethany worked with presented with a vairety of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, intellectual and/or physical disabilities, among others.

In clinical settings, Bethany has worked with children, adolescents, and adults using a cognitive behavioural therapy approach for treatment and maintenance of symptoms for a variety of mental health concerns and neurodevelopmental disorders. She works closely with other professionals, families, and schools to ensure a client centred approach of care is met.

More recently, Bethany has been completing a variety of psychometeric assessments including cognitve and academic assessements and screening for neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism, as well as working with adult males with dual diagnosis concerns, presenting with a combination of substance use disorders and poor mental health.

Bethany implements trauma informed practice across her work, and encourages collaboration between practitioners to maintain a holistic approach of care.
