‘Creative Thoughts’ Arts Therapy
Arts Therapist, Jo Ellen, is passionate about improving the emotional state of children and adolescents. She works to give young people a medium through which to make and communicate meaning, via still and moving images, sounds, textures, gestures and many other symbolic forms.
Arts Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses different art materials, such as paints, drawing, clay, movement, music and digital media such as photography.
Jo has experience working with children and adolescents to assist them with managing a range of challenges including:
- Learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism
- Behavioural issues at school or at home
- Mental health problems
- Experience of a traumatic event
- Grief and Loss
An individually tailored program is developed for each client to assist with self esteem and confidence, as well as empowering the young person to develop their own strategies to use in their daily lives.
