About Us
Futures in Mind is a paediatric allied health clinic servicing Melbourne’s south-east suburbs. Futures in Mind provides Psychology assessment, intervention, and therapy, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Social Work, Family Therapy, Art Therapy, and Nurse Practitioner Services.
We provide regular professional development to schools and professionals as well as parenting programs such as ‘Parenting and Autism’ and ‘Tuning In To Kids’. Our practitioners are highly skilled and focussed on changing the lives of young people. Futures In Mind has services for everyone.
My private practice began in 2012 with one room and a laptop. Being in the City of Casey I was astutely aware of the crisis that was youth suicide and the lack of accessible services to promote positive mental health in the child and adolescent population.
From here grew my passion to promote positive mental health and prevent rising youth suicide rates in the area. I knew this would be most effectively achieved by partnering with local primary and secondary schools. We now pride ourselves in including family and schools in each treatment plan to ensure each individual is supported in all aspects of their lives.
A second area of interest I developed is working with young people with Autism. My experience providing assessment and intervention services to families revealed the frustrations families felt having to travel between services in order to access OT, Psychology, Speech Pathology etc. The dream to open a multi-disciplinary allied health clinic in the City of Casey began! In November 2016 I opened ‘Futures In Mind’ providing services to young people, aged 0-25 years, and their families.
