Vanessa is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist with a special focus on supporting autistic and ADHD individuals from childhood to adulthood (particularly the internalising presentations often seen in girls and women). She also supports families to enhance their understanding of their neurodivergent children’s unique ways of communicating and relating, and to respond effectively to their children’s stress (“challenging”) behaviours.
Her approach involves embracing autism and ADHD as different expressions of natural human functioning rather than developmental deficits, whilst recognising the disabilities they experience due to barriers in their environments (and working to make these more inclusive). Vanessa is a clinician with professional and lived experience of neurodivergence. She works alongside her wonderful therapy dogs, Mikro and Megiddo (Megi).
